Big Book of God's Promises - Loves Fire
ACCEPTANCE
…to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
(Ephesians 1:6)
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.
(2 Corinthians 5:9)
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
(John 15:16)
Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, ⁵ having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.
(Ephesians 1:4-5)
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.
(Ephesians 1:11)
But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.
(Acts 10:35)
Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.
(Romans 15:7)
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
(John 1:12-13)
Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
(2 Corinthians 1:21-22)
God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
(1 Corinthians 1:9)
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
(Romans 8:1)
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
(Colossians 2:9-10)
"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins." (Colossians 1:13-14)
ACCOUNTABILITY
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
(Romans 14:12)
But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
(Luke 12:48)
Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.
(1 Corinthians 4:2)
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
(Hebrews 13:17)
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
(Galatians 5:1)
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.
(Luke 21:36)
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.
(Proverbs 9:12)
But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
(Matthew 12:36)
But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?'
(Luke 12:20)
Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their fathers; a person shall be put to death for his own sin.
(Deuteronomy 24:16)
We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
(Romans 15:1-2)
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
(Galatians 6:1)
The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
(Ezekiel 18:20)
ADDICTION
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
(Romans 6:11-14)
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
(James 5:16)
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
(Galatians 5:1)
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
(Galatians 5:16-17)
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
(Galatians 5:24-25)
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
(Romans 8:2)
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
(Romans 8:5-9)
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
(Colossians 3:1-3)
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
(1 John 2:15-17)
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
(1 John 5:4-5)
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
(1 John 4:4)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:6-7)
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
(Philippians 4:8-9)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
(Philippians 4:13)
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
(James 4:7)
AMBITION
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 3:13-14)
And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
(Luke 12:29-31)
Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.
(2 Thessalonians 2:15)
But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
(Matthew 23:11-12)
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.
(Exodus 20:17)
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.
(Ecclesiastes 9:10)
Jesus answered,
Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work." (John 9:4)
This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John.
(Acts 18:25)
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.
(1 Corinthians 9:24)
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him,
All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me. Then Jesus said to him,
Away with you, satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve'" (Matthew 4:8-10)
But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.
(1 Corinthians 12:31)
How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?
(John 5:44)
ANGER
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.
(Psalm 37:8)
A wise man fears and departs from evil, But a fool rages and is self-confident. A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, And a man of wicked intentions is hated.
(Proverbs 14:16-17)
"He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly." (Proverbs 14:29)
A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.
(Proverbs 15:1)
"He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city." (Proverbs 16:32)
Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.
(Ecclesiastes 7:9)
But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
(Matthew 5:22-24)
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
(Matthew 6:14)
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,
Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. Therefore
If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
(Romans 12:19-21)
Be angry, and do not sin
do not let the sun go down on your wrath," (Ephesians 4:26)
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
(Ephesians 4:31-32)
"But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. (Colossians 3:8)
For we know Him who said,
Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. And again,
The Lord will judge His people." (Hebrews 10:30)
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
(James 1:19-20)
ANSWERED PRAYER
And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
(John 16:23-24)
They shall not labor in vain, Nor bring forth children for trouble; For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, And their offspring with them.
It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear" (Isaiah 65:23-24)
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
(Matthew 7:7-8)
And he said: I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, And He answered me.
Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. (Jonah 2:2)
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them (Psalm 145:18-19)
He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, And shall not despise their prayer. "This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. (Psalm 102:17-18)
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ (Jeremiah 33:3)
BELIEF
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16)
To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.
(Acts 10:43)
As it is written:
Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." (Romans 9:33)
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
(John 1:12)
He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(John 3:18)
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
(John 3:36)
Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame." (1 Peter 2:6)
So they said,

Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29)
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.
(John 6:47)
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference.
(Romans 3:21-22)
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him.
(Romans 6:8)
But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
(Galatians 3:22)
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
(1 Thessalonians 4:14)
However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.
(1 Timothy 1:16)
And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
(1 John 3:23)
But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
(Jude
