    It was a time when

human greed, violence and the love of power,

was at its height, causing world wide destruction,

signaling to Creation that all life was in jeopardy.

The call reaches deep into the heart of Ocean

awakening Earth to the time of the Return

that her wayward children may be taken

    underground.

    The near future…

Melissa Rockfort was in the ocean floating and she remembered a childhood prayer:

    Blessed waters of the deep,

my first home where I did sleep,

within the darkness of my mother’s womb.

Bless my body, mind and soul,

of all the troubles I may hold,

and cleanse my sight that I may see,

the world of love surrounding me.

She was interrupted from her reveries by the sound of her lover’s voice. David Stafford was calling her a few yards away. He swam toward her, kissed her and held her in his arms.

I thought we agreed it would happen after my brother gets home from Alaska, she responded warmly.

Ok, he answered with a smile, but he better hurry because I am getting impatient."

Come on, she broke away I'll beat you to shore.

Once on land they walked to their rented cottage. David got ready for work and Melissa turned on the news. The sea was visible from the place where she sat. She relaxed on a large comfortable chair and closed her eyes with the TV playing in the background. David came out of the bedroom leaned over and kissed her gently on the lips.

How is the research going with Canada on climate change? he asked. When she didn't respond he looked at her more closely and saw that her eyes remained shut. Smiling he said affectionately, Goodbye, sleeping beauty.

She stopped pretending and reached up and put her arms around his
