After running away on his first day of work at the mine, Elfiss meets a disgruntled former Head Elf of Santa’s Workshop, Jeffrey Elvesley, brilliant inventor of a machine that revolutionized toy making at the workshop. After the machine went bonkers putting the elves behind schedule he was fired from the workshop. While helping his new friend clear his name, Elfiss also learns more about life and love. Ah Noel, the girl of his dreams. The girl he’s been in love with from the first time he laid eyes on her. There’s only one thing. He gets nervous every time he tries to talk with her. Charles Scott Carron

Charles Scott Carron was raised in the small Missouri town of Ste. Genevieve where tradition is great but opportunity is small. He has worked as a hairdresser, owning a series of salons and employed by others while still holding on to his dreams of writing music and books to help others. He began writing music lyrics and recording at the age of twelve however had never had the knowledge of how to get it “out there” for others to see and hear. Thanks to modern technology and the help of friends the opportunity has risen for that time to come. With many different interests, mostly within the arts realm, Charles has been given the chance to help others by pouring himself into his works and showing that dreams really can come true with perseverance and determination. He hopes to get reader’s thinking about their own dreams and how they can make their dreams reality. Maybe, like the characters in his books, it’ll take a little work. But with friends and family helping to push it along, your dreams can come true too.

Elfiss Pretzely is an elf. But, not just any elf. Elfiss has a special gift. He has a beautiful voice. He loves to sing too. And he does it beautifully. He sings in the shower. He sings while doing his homework. He sings while doing his chores. In fact, he sings while doing just about everything. He likes all types of music but especially loves Rock-n-Roll. He likes listening to the Elf top 10, a radio show featured on WSNO radio station at the North Pole. He knows the lyrics to just about all of the songs they play. His father Otto, a rather large, chubby, and pushy sort of elf, was always telling Elfiss to stop singing so much.

You’re driving me crazy Otto would say.

You see, Otto’s parents were lost in an avalanche and were never seen again. The only things ever found were their wedding rings. Otto just wanted to keep Elfiss, his only son safe from harm. Otto wanted nothing more for his son than to carry on the family business running the peppermint mine he had bought from his dear old friend Yukon Cornelius. His plans for Elfiss were to teach him the ropes of the mine and eventually passing down his family business to him. Elfiss, on the other hand, had other plans. He wanted nothing more than to sing for Santa in the famous Grand Elf Choir. Elfiss had dreamed of singing in the Grand Elf Choir his whole life, which for an elf, is a pretty long time. One of his favorite groups was called the Peppermint Trio. They had a beautiful harmony that he just loved. He had their band poster hanging above his bed. Ever since they joined Santa’s Grand Elf Choir Elfiss wanted to make the Trio a Quartet.

Every time Elfiss told his father of his dream, Otto would say Nonsense! Only elves from special families ever get into the Grand Elf Choir. This would make Elfiss sad and angry and he wondered why Santa would show such favoritism. Elfiss would sulk and then walk away. But he would not be sulking for long. The power that music had over him was too strong. He couldn’t resist the temptation to sing. He would start singing again in no time flat. A tune would pop into his head and he would start to sing along, sometimes grabbing the nearest elf and dance through the streets while singing a favorite song. Surely if Santa could hear him sing, he would change his mind about only accepting elves from certain parts of the North Pole. The Elvesley Academy Graduation Ceremony would be that day and Elfiss would be starting his incredible adventure. He had waited a very long time for this special day and wanted nothing to mess it up for him. He knew what his father wanted for him, but he also knew in his heart what he really wanted for himself. His heart was set on music.

Elfiss had trouble sleeping thinking about what would happen in his future once he had graduated, but one thing was for sure that wasn’t going to happen. He wasn’t about to go to work in the mine. He disliked peppermint. Now that may seem odd that an elf would not like peppermint, but not every human likes it either. The only peppermint he liked was the Peppermint Trio. Elfiss was more of a chocolate chip cookie fan.

Elfiss Finally drifted off to sleep. He dreamed he was dressed in an awesome green suit with rhinestones and wearing sunglasses. He dreamed of standing on stage performing a
