    We often hear the comment, “Put Christ back into Christmas!” During the Advent and Christmas season, Prayer Steps to Christmas will help you keep your heart and mind focused on Jesus Christ and what the Bible teaches about His birth and the meaning of His coming into the world. You will also learn more about the meaning of His coming into your life, if you will open your heart and invite Him to reign in the center of your life as you learn more about what He wants to do within you. One Prayer Step at a time, the thirty-one daily meditations and prayers can be read in the morning or evening, at the table before or after a meal, during family devotions, or at the beginning or close of a group Bible study or Sunday school class. You can consider the “Thinking Further” questions throughout the day or discuss the questions with your family, in a Bible study group, or in your church group.

    To help those who do not have their Bible close at hand, in the back of this book you will find the records of Jesus’ birth as told in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. The verses from these two books of the Bible have been put into a possible chronological order for a “Harmony of the Gospels;” so you can read the incidents surrounding Jesus’ birth in the possible chronological order of events. As you read through the “Harmony of the Gospels,” in either the King James Version of the Bible or the English Standard Version of the Bible, the verses in italics are verses that have been used in the Prayer Steps to Christmas meditations. With the use of hyperlinks in e-books, you can go from a verse in a meditation to read the verse in the chapter’s context or you can go from a verse in the “Harmony of the Gospels” to the Prayer Step meditation on that verse. With the flexibility e-books offer, if you need to teach or read a devotional on a particular verse of the Bible you can easily read both from a chapter in the Bible and then read the daily meditation and prayer that corresponds with the portion you read from the Bible.

He is also the author of "Prayer Steps to Serenity the Twelve Steps Journey: New Serenity Prayer Edition.He met Francis and Edith Schaeffer in 1979, and is the author of "How God Teaches Us to Pray: Lessons from the Lives of Francis and Edith Schaeffer," "Francis and Edith Schaeffer,"He has compiled numerous devotional and prayer book classics. These books include "How to Pray in the Spirit" from the writings of John Bunyan, Kregel Publications. "Answers to Prayer" and "Principles of Prayer" from the writings of Charles G. Finney, Bethany House Publishers. "The Believer’s Secret of the Abiding Presence" from the writings of Andrew Murray and Brother Lawrence, Bethany House Publishers, and "The Believer’s Secret of Intercession" from the writings of Andrew Murray and C.H. Spurgeon, Bethany House Publishers. Since 1989, he has written the weekly “Bible Lesson” for "The Oklahoman," Oklahoma’s largest circulation daily newspaper. His weekly Bible Lessons are also published as the International Bible Lessons in the InternationalBibleLessons.org website.
