Hi, my name is Adam Williams and I am a self-confessed crime fiction addict. Having consumed every volume that Rankin, Billingham et al. could throw at me, there was only one thing left for me to do; create my own. I set my first novel, The Future of the Past, in my native West Midlands and decided to create a protagonist detective with a difference. Rather than plump for the somewhat clichéd maverick cop with a troubled past, DCI Danny Isham is, at the start of the novel at least, the exact opposite. With an exemplary career record, happy and settled personal life and the perfect childhood upbringing, Isham embarks upon the reinvestigation of a thirty year old case of child abduction and murder which leads him along a path of personal discovery which sees everything he thought he knew about his life unravel, leading to him making personal and professional decisions which have disastrous consequences.
