About this ebook

Anya’s wish for a normal date—away from the old man she is caretaker for—comes true in unexpected ways when she finds herself whisked to an ancient Irish stone circle on solstice eve.

Carrick’s decision to follow the path to become an Ovate druid has not come lightly, and he plans to spend the solstice eve in meditation unless fairies or evil spirits disrupt the circle. When a feisty girl walks right up to the fire, more than sparks fly.

They each seek healing and a connection, but the darkness of summer is short, and once the solstice sun breaks through the circle at dawn, the magic of the night will be over. Even Madame Eve can’t stop the day from rising.

    ~DEDICATION~

    To my Prince….

    Chapter One

Another? the bartender asked. He ran his hand through his tousled pale hair and flashed an I’m available smile.

No, I’d better call it a night. Anya turned from his gaze while heat rose in her cheeks. He was always so forward. What didn’t he understand about no? I’ll take my check. She pushed her empty glass across the bar toward him. Please. She wiped her fingertips on the bar napkin and then spread it back out into a neat square in front of her. The bartender didn’t move, but watched her intently.

It’s early. Sure you don’t want another pint? You’ve only had one. Got your favorite Irish brew on tap. His arm brushed hers then crept over to full contact. Me.

A shiver raced through her. Could he be the one Madame Eve had chosen? A man right under her nose? His crookedly handsome grin—the same one she had seen every Saturday night she’d been coming into the little Irish pub in the North Carolina mountains—grew larger. She jerked her arm away. Don’t think so. I’ve got to go.

If you say so, honey. He paused and trailed a finger across the bar, nearly, but not touching her. She wished she had worn more than a low-cut sundress. The air vibrated with the hum of a dozen conversations and though the bar was almost full, she sat alone. Again. He smirked. Right back with your bill. You have time to change your mind. He grabbed the heavy pint glass and spun away.

Anya sighed and rubbed her arm, trying to quiet the sensations boiling inside her.
