About this ebook
Abandoned as an infant and raising herself, Jessie learned a long time ago that you cannot trust anybody, but when she finds herself being chased by a man only she can see, that may have to change.
Something's wrong with her. Strange things are happening, and it always links with her temper. Her eyes are the key into the door that leads into her soul - and the fate of mankind.

Her hair blew in the wind and her hawk-like eyes stared at him, a stare harsh enough to kill anybody, or anything, in her path. With pure black skin and vacant black eyes, she seemed like nothing more than a three dimensional gloom. The only way to tell apart her hair and eyes were the thin white outlines of them. Her fingers were used as knives.
Daniel slowly walked toward her. She seemed terrified of others, even though most others were afraid of her. She pointed her knife-like fingers inches from his heart. The knives were now touching his shirt, breaking through it and starting to break through his skin. He leapt backwards, but the murkiness would easily follow him. Suddenly, a loud bang broke the silence, and the girl’s knives turned back into regular fingers, and she was gone.

CHAPTER ONE
Mr. and Mrs. Vettal weren’t what anybody in England would consider normal. They were the first people you would suspect to be the cause of anything strange or mystifying. This is because their daughter, Jezebel, was rumored to have the curse of hell in her soul.
The two of them gazed up to the night sky, praying for a miracle for their daughter, which never seemed to have come. They had lost everything: their home, their best friends, and their way of living — all for an unreasonable purpose. Their biggest fear was that their daughter might have to suffer the same way they did earlier that day. They couldn’t bear if it if Mr. Vettal’s brother knew where Jezebel would be.
Jezebel was left at London Orphan Asylum, where they hoped she would be in a few years so they could get her back.
The sun rose high into the morning air, its rays shining onto Jezebel’s face. The birds chirped and sang happily and kites floated in the air with young children grasping their ends.
Stretching herself awake, Jezebel lied on her bed and stared out her window to see the beautiful day outside. After a minute, she forced herself out of bed and placed her slippers on her feet, then walked to her window to watch the life that was beyond her reach. Kids of all ages ran around outside, their parents keeping a close watch on them.
She sighed sorrowfully at the sight of the wonderful things she viewed every morning and turned to her cabinets to get some clothes for the day. However, before she could touch the knob, something caught her attention.
Where is it? she thought, then, JENNA!
She felt her blood beginning to rise to her head, building her light skin into a bright cherry red. She wouldn’t — couldn’t — open her fists no matter how hard she tried. She was sure she was clotting blood by her fingers. She waved her arms around her frantically, dressed at a record-breaking speed, and ran down the stairs, where Jenna, another girl that lived at London Orphan Asylum, sat watching a movie.
JENNA!
she hollered. GIVE IT BACK!
Jenna glanced behind her right shoulder; the sight of Jezebel’s fury amused her. She smirked at her slightly and turned her head to the television again.
No Jezebel…if you want, you have to get it from me.
It’s Jessie; not Jess, and not Jezebel!
Jenna was three years older than her, making her sixteen, which often made her think she was in charge.
Jessie stared at Jenna, her arms crossed. Jenna wasn’t large, but she wasn’t thin either — unlike Jessie, who was nothing but a walking stick in her own opinion. Jenna had straight, murky black hair and really chubby cheeks that made Jessie want to laugh (even
