Susannah Hollowell is a writer who's 100 acres of wooded land lends her a nature's inspiration. She's heard the stories of a strange man, a Sea Captain, living on her land somewhere.
One day as she's walking on a path, she hears the melodious sounds of a harp and discovers an old man, playing the instrument so skillfully.
After brief introductions, he invites her to his home, which she soon finds defies logic and rational thought; a ship floating on an ocean, named in her honor.
Transformed into a younger man, He offers her a sailing adventure that's a true slice of heaven. In accepting his proposal, she finds a familiar friend in her host, as a character she wrote about extensively in her past.
