Chapter 1

Prologue

On March Twenty-Two in the town of Strongville reports of a zombie outbreak alarmed the whole world. After the original appearance of these called zombies the government stepped in to control the situation, but it wasn't enough, the zombies kept growing in numbers. In the end the government fell and world fell into chaos. But luckily there were some people ready to lead the survivors to a better tomorrow.

These brave people will guide the rest to safety and history will remember them for that. Some day these people will be known as the Dead Heroes, these are some of the chronicles of their journeys.

The following are the events that marked the ordeal of some of these heroes.

My name is Mike Irons; I am the leader of a resistance group located in the desert town of Old Cassidy. The date is May eleventh, approximately two months after the first reported zombie infection. I used to work in a shipping company as a delivery boy, but everything changed after that day, in less than two weeks the city I used to live became a living hell. My city was among the first of many to be infected with zombies. People turned into zombies by fluid contact. A bite or even an open wound exposed to zombie’s blood turned you into a zombie. They started to crawl on the streets slowly, for the first few days it was under control, but that didn't last long. Soon the zombies overpowered the living, their numbers were colossal. The government quickly stepped in trying to control the situation but they failed. But where they failed I raised, amidst all this chaos. Thanks to the zombies I've become king of the dead.

This actually started on March twenty two, the day the media first reported the infection. I had to make a delivery in a small town far away from my usual route. I got in my truck and listened to my old metal collection while driving, so I didn't check the radio. The roads were mostly deserted, I even a saw a car stranded on the side of the road with the driver's door open, I figured some idiot's car broke down and they left without closing the doors. After almost an hour I finally arrived at the place of my delivery: Jenkins’s Pawn Shop. The streets were also deserted, but I didn’t pay much attention to it. I got inside the store with the package in hand and looked the name of the person I was supposed to deliver: Mr. Jenkins himself. I rang the bell on the counter but there was no response, I started yelling the name of this Mr. Jenkins when suddenly something came at me from behind. I have very good reflexes so I quickly turned around and saw someone trying to grab me. I managed to dodge the assailant, it was a pale man hunching, he or it turned around and raised its head, you could see blood dripping from his mouth, I didn't know what was happening and
