I woke sometime in the middle of the night. The house was still dark, and it took me a moment to orient myself and realize where I was. When the evening came back to me, from dropping off Jakey to kissing Julie in the kitchen, I was suddenly caught in a riot of emotions. I missed my baby, I hated my ex husband for leaving us, I was sad for Julie and her situation.

Most surprisingly of all, I was horny.

I hadn't had that particular desire in a while; certainly not since my ex had left, and that was months ago. The taste of Julie's whiskey breath was gone from my mouth, but my sleepy memory provided it readily enough when I thought about it. I remembered the touch of her lips, the taste of her tongue, the way her hand had slipped up and cupped my breast.
