About this ebook
Mixing business and pleasure with a five hundred year old vampire is never smart.
Earth in 2339 is not a joyful place, and Blythe’s company is in the business of making people happy. She travels from the future to 1785 Scotland to prove that she is worthy of keeping her job. But Darach Mackenzie tests even her skills. He is too much of everything—too deadly, too tempting, and obviously too much vampire for one woman to handle.
But Blythe rises to the challenge. She helps save Darach from those who would enslave and kill him. But who will save her when she learns that the price of his happiness is her heart?
Nina Bangs
USA Today bestselling author Nina Bangs lives near Houston, Texas, with her cat, Abby, and two vampires who never made it into her books. She's joking about the vampires, but she'd be open to the concept. The paranormal world fascinates her. And if she didn't love creating stories filled with strange and deadly characters so much, she'd be hunting ghosts for TAPS.

Reviews for Master of Ecstasy (Mackenzie Vampires, Book 1)

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Master of Ecstasy is a paranormal romance that lean towards erotica without actually being erotica. It certainly has its share of sex, but I don’t think it has anything more than a lot of other romances I’ve read. What it also has is its fair share of humor, which cuts the sexiness quite a bit. The world-building is very odd, a mixture of 1700s Scotland and the future. I’m not sure that I’ll read any more in the series. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t really hold my interest much.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A tick-the-boxes vampire romance. Scotland, check; vampires check; time-travel, check; culture clash, check, magic, check; I could continue but it's not that bad. Blythe (oh yes the Blythe Spirit thing is used on the cover) is on a holiday back to 1785 from 2339, when the world is overpopulated and longevity is taken for granted. He's Darach McKenzie, from a family of vampires who is in the castle to deal with some of the out-of-control vampires who are homing back to the castle as the ancestral home. They're attracted but not sure where this can go.Ganymeded and Spare are organising this romance-fest and trying to matchmake. It's not quite going to plan but no plan survives the first contact with the enemy. It's readable, fairly predicatable but entertaining. Not a keeper but not the worst I've read. Occasionally I felt like it was trying too hard but still not bad.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is about a vampire by the name of Darach MacKenzie and a woman named Blythe. Blythe lives in the future and takes a travel tour to the distant past which happens to be the Scottish Highlands of 1785. This is where she meets Darach. Blythe works for a company called Ecstasy INC which basically is a company that is hired out to make people happy. Blythe discovers Darach and decides that it is her job to make him happy. He on the other hand doesn't exactly feel like he is unhappy. She goes about doing her analyzing stuff to him and he resists the whole way. Darach feels sexual pleasure is the key to happiness and this is where him and Blythe have their turmoil. It was a fun story, easy reading and I like the way Ms. Bangs writes. There was some sexual content but I wouldn't consider it overly done. It actually went right along with the story and wasn't just thrown in for good measure. I thought the book was enjoyable and would recommend it for a good time travel paranormal type read.
