About this ebook
Chica, a baby Sugarmouth Fairy, gets lost and separated from her family during their journey to Mexico. Rescued by a group of English Sugarmouths, they take Chica to a proper English garden inhabited by Royal Garden Fairies and a Princess cat named Chloe. Melly and Ruby, two little English garden fairies, cannot wait for her to become a garden fairy. They are all very surprised when she instead turns into a Spanish Garden fairy and announces her arrival in Spanish. “Hola, Aqui Estoy.” With long black hair, hoop earrings, bangle bracelets, and an adventurous personality, Chica transforms the English garden into a Fiesta. The little garden fairies become best friends, and soon all three have hot pink, swishy skirts and turn the English garden upside down.
Melly, Ruby, and Chica decide to go to Mexico in search of her family with the help of Miss Monarch and Chloe.
They have one narrow escape after another, escaping black flying eaters, getting lost, and meeting new fairy families. Just when they finally get to Mexico, they fall into a magic Mayan River, turning them into Princess Fairies. And so, their adventures begin.

When my daughter was little, she would ask me to read the same story over and over and over again. Sometimes, she would want me to tell her a story, by memory, precisely as it was written in the book. While this was a bit difficult, she would let me know when I messed up, and request that I start again from the beginning! To creatively avoid this situation, I began making up my own stories. We both found this to be enjoyable, so it became an integrated part of her childhood. Recently, she asked me to write down some of my magical tales. Since we both love garden fairies, I chose to start with this one. I hope you enjoy the stories as much as we do. Feel free to elaborate and personalize the reading of this adventure. Let it come alive in your imagination. I am just a regular mom; living life, running errands, cooking dinner, washing clothes, and trying my best to do a good job raising my daughter. I am a firm believer in creativity, and think the best way to foster creative thinking is through words, stories, and songs. The sky is the limit. Creative thinking is a pleasure that very few enjoy, and fewer parents encourage. A world of make-believe can happen right on the other side of life’s distractions. So next time you’re reaching for that remote or stereo volume, try creating your own story or song instead. Let the wonder in you come alive! It doesn’t have to be great or terribly interesting. It can just be a story for your child that captures their imagination, or perhaps just a silly fun activity to get to know each other better. It does not have to make any sense, or have anything to do with reality. Just take a moment to imagine wonderful worlds, words, colors, and adventures. Happy imagination!

Chapter One – The Garden Fairies Meet The Baby Sugarmouth
Once there was a beautiful English garden cared for by garden fairies and their families. Early one evening, a cool breeze blew as plants and flowers shook out their leaves and petals after a hot summer day. The garden was coming alive again with the buzz of insects and the chirping of birds in the fading light.
A little girl fairy, Ruby, nestled down into the stem of a Calla Lily as her mother tucked her in for the night. They always talked a little before she went to sleep. Ruby liked to tell her mother about the things her best friend, Melly, and she had done that day.
Mother, what kind of a garden fairy am I?
asked Ruby.
You’re a Royal Garden Fairy,
her mother answered, fluttering her red wings. When I grow up, thought Ruby, I want the most beautiful wings in the world just like Mothers. Ruby glanced over her shoulder to see if her wings had grown any during the day.
Ruby
Someday, Ruby, you will have big beautiful wings,
her mother said. Smiling, she leaned down to put her finger on the tip of Ruby’s nose. We have a big day tomorrow; the Sugarmouths will be here for the summer. You and Melly can help me in the garden. Now go to sleep.
She kissed Ruby on top of her head and said, Good night. Sweet dreams.
The Calla Lily swayed in the breeze and soon Ruby and her mother were fast asleep.
Ruby was sweet and loving with long wavy blond hair and blue eyes. Being three years old, she tried hard to help in the garden and obey her mother. But, she spent most of her time playing with Melly who was two and a half. Melly had curly red hair and green eyes. Her real name was Amelia, but everyone called her Melly. Their wings were different colors, but both sparkled and glittered like their mothers’. One of Ruby and Melly’s favorite games was twirling around to see if they could make the sparkles fly off. Sometimes they twirled and twirled and twirled so much, they fell to the ground dizzy and giggling in the grass.
The next morning Ruby and Melly went out to play before helping in the garden.
I think the Sugarmouths are strange,
said Ruby.
Mr Sugarmouth
I do too,
said Melly. All they do is eat flowers, take naps, and then fly off. Chloe said the Sugarmouths change into are pretty butterflies. Did you know Mr. Sugarmouth is their leader? He’s fat, green, and wears glasses.
Do you think we’ll see them today?
asked Ruby, as she and Melly
