    The name Kintara is derived from a planet in GURPS Space Atlas 3; Kaa, Sparriels, and Irari are from GURPS Aliens. Quickheal, plastiskin, Morphazine, implant communicators, dino-lasers, force-swords, tanglers, and radscanners are named in GURPS Ultra-Tech. Ship weaponry is collected in one place in GURPS Space. Bloodfangs are derived from a creature in GURPS Bestiary. Electrokinesis is inspired by GURPS Psionics. All are used with permission of Steve Jackson Games. No dice were touched in the writing of this story.

    Glossary

    Halloth – Not a Kintaran word; the race-name for a humanoid, mammalian alien-race using haemocyanin in their blood; their coloration spans from indigo to aqua. Plural: Hallo.

    Hallothya – Not a Kintaran word; the Halloth homeworld.

    Kaa – Not a Kintaran word. Kaa are a snake-like reptilian race: raiders, slavers, and pirates (technically privateers of the Kaa Empire) at the fringes of civilized space. They eat sapient species – including other Kaa. To Kintarans, they smell delicious.

    K'ee'tha – Also spelled K'eetha. The same as, or baby-same or copycat. Connotations of immaturity.

    Khih – yes or yeah.

    M' – of, part of, belonging to.

    Merfah – a rabbit-sized, warm-blooded, scaled, egg-laying, six-legged marsupial, native to Kintara. Yummy to Kintarans.

    Mmsar – Not a Kintaran word; the race-name for a warm-blooded, reptilian-seeming alien race.

    Mmsarsan – Not a Kintaran word; the name for the Mmsar's planet.

    N'ee'tha – unique; connotations of adulthood and status. Also spelled N'eetha.

    Nih – No or nope.

    Rau – tribe, group, clan. Plural: Raut.

    Sida – Bane, or terror.

    Wahn – captain, or leader. Plural: Wahnt.

    Untranslated Names

    Choosaraf First-Star, a Kintaran clanship.

    Daaral-Naiss – Gold-fang, a Security Kint.

    Dellum – No translation in Trade Kintaran. A pilot on the Choosaraf.

    Kaa-Sida – Bane of Kaa, Wahn (Captain) of the Blackshadow.

    Klarin-yal – no translation in Trade Kintaran; Wahn (Captain) of the Choosaraf.

    Narla – No translation
