    The Tigers’ vaunted starters tested Boston, but the Sox rallied to win Game 2, got their own strong outings from John Lackey and Jon Lester, and Shane Victorino slammed the door in Game 6.

    Tampa Bay had been a thorn in Boston’s side for a few years, but the Red Sox took care of their home field in dominating fashion, then eked out a victory in Game 4 to avoid a winner-take-all finale.
