He spent years in Soviet prisons, most of it in solitary confinement, and never did he feel apart from the people and the land of Israel. He was released in 1986 and since then, has served the Jewish people and the Jewish state tirelessly. Rabbi Dr. Sharon Shalom was born in a small Jewish village in Northern Ethiopia and came to Israel as a refugee without his family, at around 8 years old. After serving as an officer in the Israel Defense Forces, he received semiha from Yeshivat Har Etzion and completed his doctorate in Jewish Philosophy at Bar-Ilan University.
