Walker James is a Christian author who enjoys writing, teaching, speaking and encouraging others to fall in love with a mighty God. A Christian since the age of 15, Walker was challenged by God in a unique way to answer for himself the question “What does God want?” when God gave him not one but two boys with special needs. The fact that God allowed such a challenge to one of His children caught Walker by surprise and triggered a 12-year temper tantrum. "Why would God do this to me? His child?" Walker asked, but God remained silent. At rock bottom, and done fighting with God, Walker surrendered again and finally realized, God was not picking on him. God was loving Him and blessing Him. He then started on this journey to learn as much as possible about God and His beloved Son Jesus. During this time, Walker became very passionate about sharing Him with others. He desires to share with you the tremendous love, value, and benefit when you enter into a “real” relationship with God. His first book Perspectives: Book 1 - What Does God Want? is the true story of how God got him to start asking the right questions and how God helped him figure out what it was He wanted from him. The struggles and challenges Walker has been through make him the perfect speaker for your event. He’s been there, done that and has more than one t-shirt. He’s engaging, relatable and easily breaks down and communicates the perceived rules, regulations and rituals of God into a close, personal, loving, intimate relationship with God. God does not have to be complicated; God does not want to be complicated. Let’s keep our relationships simple. Like Jesus said: “Love God, love others!” Walker, a U.S. Marine Veteran, lives with his wife Diana in Southern California. Together, they have four children. SERMON.
With such sacrifices God is well pleased.
—Hebrews xiii. 16.
I am to speak of public spirit, as manifested in a willingness to make sacrifices for the public good.
The necessity for making sacrifices would seem to be founded in this: as we cannot have every thing, we must be willing to sacrifice some things in order to obtain or secure others. Wicked men recognize and act upon this principle. Can you not recall more than one person in your own circle of acquaintances who is sacrificing his health, his good name, his domestic comfort, to vicious indulgences? Worldly people recognize and act upon this principle. Look at that miser: he is hoarding up his thousands and his tens of thousands, but in order to do so, is he not sacrificing every thing
