About the Author
Once upon a time long ago, a tiny green honu broke free from its shell and scurried across the wet sand toward the beckoning waves of the moonlit sea.
The little one tumbled and tossed in the foam, but somehow managed to elude the gulp of predators by hiding under a floating palm frond.
Soon, she was swept out into the Great Unknown where her new life began.
As with all green sea turtles, Honu’s early years were a mystery lived in far-flung places.
She only knew that a powerful life force, something far greater than her small self, kept her alive and safe.
Alone, with no parent or friend to guide her, she learned to survive on what the ocean so abundantly provided.
She loved snacking on jellyfish and all manner of tiny floating life forms.
