About this ebook
Will life on earth really come crashing to a halt on December 21, 2012?
Will solar storms trigger devastating earthquakes and volcanoes that obliterate humankind? Will a large-scale science experiment go awry, destroying our civilization? Is Earth on a collision course with an obscure planet? Will any of these events herald the end of the world? Dr. Raymond C. Hundley analyzes the predictions of the ten most prominent apocalyptic theories in the 2012 doomsday movement. He investigates the claims of scientists, theologians, mathematicians, technologists, and ancient prophets along with the credibility and probability of each theory. The 2012 predictions of the Mayan calendar are considered alongside the parallel calculations of 16th century astrologer Nostradamus. Dr. Hundley takes a close look at the speculation originating everywhere, from evangelical Christianity to secular academia.
Will the World End in 2012? Dr. Hundley’s conclusion may be what you least expect. He challenges Christians to respond to these predictions not with fear, but with hope and joy. For believers and nonbelievers alike, Hundley’s logical evaluation of Earth’s potential demise provides a fascinating road map of where our civilization could be heading and how we can prepare our hearts and minds for what lies ahead.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Where will you be in 2012? I asked this question of my co-workers; most said that 2012 will not happen!
But just in case this will be the last night on earth, I will be at my parent's beach condo in Maui Hawaii! I want to see the sun set and watch the Tsunami come take me to Heaven. The wave will look like God's hand coming toward me as I smiled through infinity. I will not panic.
Raymond C. Handley presents the ten theories that are connected to 2012:
1.The Mayan End of their Calendar
2.Solar Storms
3.CERN and the Large Hadron Collider
4.The Predictions of Nostradamus
5.The Reversal of the Magnetic Poles
6.Collision with Planet X
7.Earth's Alignment with the Galactic Plane
8.Eruption of the Super Volcano
9.The Web Bot Project
10.Religious Predictions of the End of the World.
Handley did a great job of writing a short fictional sketch before every theory. This is a great way to get into the real implications of the doom that might be coming. He equips the reader with a clear explanation of each of the theories. He also attempts to calm people and clear the "Kultur-Smog" that is 2012. His answer to the looming theories is clearly gospel centered. The book adds helpful information for future study: author notes, bibliography, and group study guide. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5With all the predictions coming forth about the end of the world being in 2012, Raymond C. Hundley, PH.D. has done a good job of addressing each of these in his book Will the World End in 2012? Hundley looks at the Mayan calendar theory and the solar storms in a very clear way. He quickly dismisses the Mayan calendar in a very clear manner. The solar storms while possible probably aren’t going to destroy the world. He further discusses some of the scary items like black holes sucking in all matter. All in all Hundley has produced a very interesting book. He has clearly researched each of the ten theories. He goes through them one by one, and of course concludes that there really is no way we can know for sure when or how the world will end. The book is intriguing and worth the read. At a mere 154pages it is a fast read.
