3.5 stars/Fiction; Chick-litCharlotte Grey is dead. In her afterlife, she decides to create a little mayhem for an ex and visits her loved ones with the intention of 'helping.' In reality, she complicates things even worse! If This is Paradise, I Want my Money Back is a highly entertaining book full of funny antics and interesting characters. It is also predictable and somewhat mindless fluff that will be best enjoyed when relaxing and needing something to pass the time. Charlotte's character lacks common sense and is totally an airhead. Typically, I like my heroines to have a bit more depth and strength to them than this one had. There were definitely moments in this book that had me laughing out loud. While not as well written as some of the other big names in chick-lit; (Sophie Kinsella or Helen Fielding) Claudia Carroll did a great job bringing Charlottes character to life. She was funny and the storyline was interesting enough to keep me reading. There were a few things throughout the book that seemed a little redundant but overall, I enjoyed it.It most likely won't be a re-read for me, but it was a cute, light-hearted story.Recommended.
