Very nice comparative study of all Asian economies with a nice closure of the argument explaining the baiscs of the failure of the Asian Model of growth. I found it lacking in statistical front but a mesh of caharcters playing togather for each economy (which are devided into dedicated chapters for each country) gives it more of a soap opera feal than a book on economical study of these countries. A good read for those who want to turn the history page by page and in the process understand the Asian Model that clicked. In the end I found it to be a bit more of a Capitalist view of the Asian Model. A very good read though.

Deeply insightful book on East Asian industrial development based on anecdotal cases from the writer's experience as a western journalist reporting from Asia. Do not expect much quantitative analyses. Very compelling arguments, though.
