A Breeze to Remember

I will not pursue

my lover anymore.

Definition of shame?

Committed for over

three decades now.

Offspring near bearing

fruit now,

and my own, blossoming, as does

my loneliness.

I’ve never craved

convenience,

but desire authenticity

with every breath.

It’s in brief moments

throughout the day

that I inhale the scent of the wind,

and am confident

that it carries the aroma

of my soul mate.

It is sweet like that of

a northern bay wind

yet warms my blood like that of

a southern summer.

When the air is stale and still . . .

I lay wishes about,

for the breeze that I

hold near to my heart.

A Night on Your Shore

Let me dive into your sea.

I want to wade in your ocean.

I want to be engulfed by your waves.

I want to sit on your sands

and gaze at your reflection.

I would like to sit in your shade

and feel drowsy in your presence.

I want your arms to stretch around me

like rivers streaming towards their destination.

I want to linger until evening

and admire your sunset.

I am eager to view the stars

from your sands.

I long to feel the moon’s rays

on my glistening body,

and yours . . .

Your glistening body and lips

caressing mine.

Oh, how I long for moments

with you.

I crave your scent and for your

intimate kisses on your favorite

curves of my body.
