He earned his doctorate in Practical Theology under the supervision of Murray Janson at the University of South Africa in 1989. His research seeks to understand how people, victims and perpetrators, recover from racism. Currently, he holds the position of Professor of Practical Theology at Palmer Theological Seminary at Eastern University. He is the founder and director of Openseminary, an innovative educational method that utilises inductive theological inquiry. This way of doing theology resulted from years of contextual ministry in local churches, grassroots organisations, and academic institutions across three continents.view less
