She was born August 11, 1971 in Cortland New York to Reginald and Jeannette Eleazer. She grew up in Hell’s Kitchen New York. Over the years she has lived in every borough of New York City, except for Staten Island. In addition to writing children’s books, she also has a deep love for poetry and spoken word performance. So much so, that she founded a poetry workshop called, ‘Healing the Heart thru Arts.’ Tammy often donates her time and shares her workshop with developmentally challenged students and summer camps. She helps the children understand that their voices matter and deserve to be heard. She was later honored with the Distinguished Service Award and given her own day. August 7th is officially Tammy Eleazer Day in the Town of Ramapo New York. Her educational background includes an Associate’s Degree in Humanities and Social Science from Rockland Community College, founded the first poetry club on campus and served as President for 2 semesters.
