A graduate of Columbia University, Emily holds graduate degrees in General Education, Special Education, and Inclusive Music, and has more than 20 years of classroom teaching and research experience. Grounded in research in the fields of speech-first instruction, inclusive music, and single character-driven narratives, Emily wrote Finnegan the Singing Dragon and created Finnegan Sings, a blended learning system that supports functional and grammatical language development with technology that addresses passive screen time consumption for all learners. Her work and company focus on helping teachers and families use instruction and 21st century tools to target natural speech development through adventure and play. The goal of Finnegan Sings is to reinvent the nature of curriculum designed for preschool-aged children using technology paired with classroom learning for more inclusive and impactful instruction.view less
