She did plays in high school, then went to New York with the Pearl Baily show where she was a singer. In New York she auditioned for Funny girl and understudied a singing role. She then got to be an understudy for the lead in Cabaret and did the part for a week in Chicago; She still sings due to the good breathing technique she teaches.
