Gunter was born and raised in the Missouri Ozarks of Texas County, Missouri, where he explored the ghost towns and listened to the stories of the oldtimers who lived there. After college, he spent over 30 years as a Software Engineer in the US Defense Industry, working in Texas, Maryland, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Colorado. Today, Rick is fulfilling his lifelong dream of writing historical fiction and non-fiction stories. He lives in southwest Missouri, researching Ozarks history and collecting antiques, old books, and old photos with his wife, Debra.
