Dr. Lightfoot-Ward's educational journey began at Florida International University, where she completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Her passion for learning led her to International Seminary, where she earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree.Throughout her life, Dr. Lightfoot-Ward has consistently demonstrated a strong sense of community and civic duty. This commitment has been evident in her various roles, such as her time on the El Portal Village Council, where she served as Councilwoman and Mayor from 1994 to 1996. During her tenure, she focused on budget management, infrastructure improvements, and professionalizing the council's operations, all while fostering an atmosphere of decorum and respect.Dr. Lightfoot-Ward's dedication to public service extends beyond her local community. As a United States Army veteran, she has displayed an unwavering commitment to her country.
