She has served as President of the Urban and Local Politics Section of the American Political Science Association and Chair of the Urban Affairs Association. She conducted research on the urban governance of migration as a European Union Fulbright Schuman Scholar. She is currently on the editorial boards of Journal Of Race, Ethnicity & The City and Urban Affairs Review. Her most recent works are Hyperlocal Place Governance in a Fragmented World (2022) and Constructing Metropolitan Space (coeditor) (2019).view less
