Idiosyncratic, Rilka is reknowned for her authentic East European recipes and is the published author of ‘Rilka’s Feasts’ in 2012.During studies at Uni South Australia, she joined the family’s extensive hospitality business, managing Barossa Motor Lodge (amongst others), winning the S.A. Tourism Award in 1982.Rilka moved to Melbourne in the early 90’s and has had a varied career as an entrepreneur, business woman and style icon (being a finalist in Telstra Business Woman of the Year and being named The Age Best-Dressed Woman).In addition to running her own executive search business, Rilka was involved in developing Tatiarra – a Heathcote Shiraz described by Robert Parker as one of the world’s great shiraz - it achieved 100 in it's first vintage. The wine is made by South Australian winemaker Ben Riggs. She was a Director of a number of prominent organisations – St. Vincent Hospital and The Melbourne Zoo Foundation among them, and has always contributed to the community through her interests in tourism, multi-cultural activities and philanthropy.Rilka recently returned to Adelaide in South Australia and is living in the Hills. While consulting to business in Adelaide, she has developed a range of healthy lifestyle foods – Rilka’s Real Food.The products are designed for people looking for healthy food, that is gluten, wheat, and yeast free, with no added sugar. She and her partner have set up a food production business and cooking school in the Adelaide Hills at Hahndorf.
