As a young couple, they met and married in ten months. He had been working on a Master's Degree in Children's Literature, while she completed her BS in Education. A feature in Yankee magazine -- House for Sale grabbed their attention. An 1805 mansard roof mansion in the Western Maine Mountains complete with a wraparound porch became home. They had been looking to buy a business so they could work together, and this had all the potential. After 20 years of running a full service country inn, they decided to find new Innkeepers in a novel fashion. Since it was their "baby", they wanted to find someone who would love the place as much as they did, so Bil came up with the idea of the Center Lovell Inn Essay contest. Before the Internet, the contest went worldwide after an appearance on the Phil Donohue show, and an article in PEOPLE magazine. This is an adventure from moving to Maine, to achieving the plan, by Passing Along A Dream to a new Innkeeper who has been running the Inn for the past 20 years and now to retire, looking to pass along the Inn to new owners who will keep the dream going.view less
