She earned a BA in Religious Studies, and an MA in Spiritual Formation before entering full-time ministry. After delving as far left and as far right as you can get in Christianity, she aims to teach and live life in the middle, a biblical balance between legalism and cheap grace. Today, Alena is a prophetic voice crying out in the desert for souls to seek the Lord with wholehearted pursuit. In her first book, "Return to Love: Redeeming the Heart of Christianity," Alena shares her journey and wisdom gained in spiritual valleys, mountaintops, and deserts. It is a practical guide and invitation for those seeking a deeper relationship with God. In her Miniphanies® podcast, Alena shares ancient truths in relatable ways, inspired by everyday experiences. These simple ah-ha moments, mini-epiphanies, inspire you to live with intention, choose spirituality over religion, and wholeheartedly embrace the Golden Rule: loving God and loving others as we love ourselves. She is the founder of Pray in the Desert, where believers gather together to pray, heal, and worship Jesus in New Mexico.
