He served with the Sixty-Fifth Infantry Division in the European Theater during World War II and later graduated with a bachelor's degree from Ursinus College. He held several executive positions in business and also served thirty-three years in local and state government. He has been married for sixty-two years; he and his wife, Mary, have four children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. They currently live in Pennsylvania.view less
