Also in 2012, my essay titled 'Lift Off' won the Bailey Prize for prose. Lift Off is in the 2012 edition of The Chrysalis Reader, a story of my return to Ohio to care for my dying father. We have three daughters, and five grandkids. My writing centers on a life in the sky, the place I made my living, and where I found serenity, safety and spiritual fulfillment.
