Her unconditional love for children comes from her own commitment to her children. She is a youth counselor and a volunteer to several immigrant families and communities in New York City.Mariam holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ghana’s Premier Private University, Valley View University, a Diploma in Islamic Studies, and a Certificate in Education from International Open University, a Certificate in Everyday Parenting from Yale University, and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration at Baruch College. She also holds several parental engagement positions and is a strong youth and children advocate. She hopes that this book brings the African Muslim community joy, answers some burning questions, and gives reassurance to others so that they know they are not alone in the challenges they face. Finally, she hopes that Facing Life As the Girl from Nima will spread a message of compassion and inspiration and serve as a legacy to the African immigrant community. ”view less
