I have written about many things, but it all relates back to the life I have experienced. I say I love to write because I do, but if my language arts teacher had anything to say about it, it would be that I struggled with the lessons and applying them correctly in my writing. I decided to publish in 2002 out of encouragement from my family. Most of what I have written in my first book came out of therapy. I had hit a difficult low point in my life. My world was crashing down around me. A personal crisis, a family crisis, and a career crisis were all happening at the same time. I survived by writing. Many read my first book, Lighting the Heart: A Healing of the Soul, and could relate to the poetry, sonnets, and essays of my life. My first book was a local success. My second book, Spiritual Reflections, was full of lessons learned about living a spiritual life. I shared all my writings with friends and family and they were welcomed with great enthusiasm. I am an accomplished nurse, a mother of three, a certified councilor, and an ordained minister. In my life, I have survived two major motor vehicle accidents, a divorce, alcoholism, and addictions. One child survived leukemia, another survived a deadly car crash. He was left with brain damage but remains a loving person. My family has survived many ups and downs—a separate book I could write. Fiction is new to me. I was getting depressed and lonely during the Covid pandemic, and I had painted several pieces of art which I have no place for. I got on a Facebook page that hosted writers, and it kept me busy. I began to write short stories, and then my imagination took off and I developed my own two characters. They fight for justice. I have fallen in love with the stories I write; they are based on life events but are all fictional. Writing has kept me company for eighteen months now. It has not let me down.
