Her life changed whe...view moreA descendent of the artistic and literary communiry of the New England Transcendentalists, Charlotte was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts into a Brahmin tea-drinking household. Her life changed when her family moved to the cultural communiry of Stockbridge in western Massachusetts. There they opened Pilgrims Inn, a family project that evolved into a bohemian-style artists' commune.
A graduate of Wellesley College with a major in art history, Charlotte has taught in Switzerland, the Philippines, in Cambridge and at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Before moving to Boulder, Colorado, she lived for several decades in the Boston area as the wife and partner of Bud Sorenson who has served as a professor, a college president, and a company CEO. Married for sixty years, the Sorensons live in Boulder, Colorado. They have three children and eight grandchildren.view less
