Her interests grew from having ancestral roots that included an eighteenth-century itinerant portrait artist, a pewterer, and coppersmiths. She is a graduate of Tufts University where she earned a BS in education, and later received an MA from the University of Connecticut. After teaching and developing programs for gifted and talented students, she worked in the financial services industry. An artist in her free time, she prints botanical images on textiles. She has three children, eight grandchildren, and lives with her Labradoodle Sophie in Connecticut, where they are both avid hikers.view less
