She grew up in Southern California and currently resides in Palm Desert California at the foot of the Santa Rosa mountains. She loves spending time with her 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Prior to retiring, Velma was a successful businesswoman and now is a writer and speaker where she is often commissioned by various groups to speak on motivational subjects. After the success of her 5 Star rated book Hidden Treasures in Secret Places, Velma is releasing her second book Hidden Treasures in Dark Places which consists of inspiring thoughts and bible quotes that are featured in her daily blog. As a diehard Pollyanna Velma believes that God's word is the absolute truth, and the wisdom that is displayed in her books comes from her application of God's word.
