The first novel detailed the adventures of Ditt and Datt, a cat and dachshund living amongst their friends. After that, he penned a four-part series about a retired teacher fighting crime (Fröken Stål) before writing the much-loved "Hooray for Ludvig XIV!" In 1968, he switched to whodunit stories, but children's books seemed to be his calling.Jan-Olof returned to writing children's books and easy reading for teens in the late '90s, inspired by his grandchildren. With his early children's books being re-released, he enjoyed a revival of the popularity of his titles. With an incredible ability to write characters navigating sticky, complex situations with grace and humor make his work a pleasure to read.
