These poems were not r...view moreE A Hanvey, aka “Poppy” wrote poems for his own enjoyment and reflective thought about things important to him, and what he believed should be to all people. These poems were not really shared until after his death at age 72 in 1996. He wrote about many memories from his life on a farm in McCormick, SC. His oldest son, Steve Hanvey, compiled his handwritten poems from legal sheets on a pad, and added one poem and commentary. All his family, children, and grandchildren especially, loved his humor and his giving heart. It really shows in his poetry.view less
