on April 25, 1953 and together they have three children, five grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
Lydia attended Glenwood High School and later got her Bachelor of Science in Education from
Henderson University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She taught special education for 20 years and
retired in 1999.
Lydia has a self-published book of gospel songs and poetry called “No Longer Home”. One of
her poems, “The Perfect Lamb” was also published in a book of poems, “Forever and a Day”.
Lydia and her husband, Gene, attend First Baptist Church in Glenwood, where she belongs to the
Earthen Vessels Sunday school class.
Lydia enjoys writing gospel songs, singing specials in church, writing and illustrating children’s
books, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.view less
