Dr. Tammy is committed to serving God, and is affectionately known by her Christ Temple of Pittsburgh Church family, has a heart for equipping others to understand mental health and the challenges individuals face in various arenas, including faith-based organizations.
Rev. Dr. Tammy, a former Mental HealthFirst Aid (MHFA) trainer while employed at Pittsburgh Mercy has with her co-workers trained many adults in mental health first aid, training included Adult, Child and Adolescent, Military/Veterans, Enforcement/Public Safety/Corrections, Clergy MHFA. These pieces of training involved staff from Pittsburgh public schools, Faith-Based organizations, Foster Care agencies, Technical Institutes, etc.
Having come to the very edge of developing an anxiety disorder and having experienced an anxiety attack two decades before. Rev. Dr. Tammy has been inspired to share the “pain” in hopes others will become more cognizant of what that pain looks like and become educated on how to assist an individual in coping with that “pain”. Having worked in the field of mental health for decades, Rev. Dr. Tammy has seen first hand the devastation mental illness can cause in an individual’s life and the impact it has on their loved ones.
