David Po’okela Beltran Jr. was born and raised on Hawaii’s capital island of Oahu. He graduated from high school and enrolled into the University of Hawaii collegiate system and graduated with an associate’s degree to pursue a career in the culinary field, in which he is still active. Throughout his education, he has entered into and won a few writing competitions, including an essay-and-poetry contest for Leeward Community College while still a senior in high school. His imagination is inspired by a combination of a Christian upbringing, an open-minded education, a fascination with destiny, and a cynicism against all the above.view less
