He devoted his legal career to trying to right the unrightable wrong done to Indian tribes throughout the history of the United States in the taking of their land and curtailing of their sovereign governmental rights. Retired, he and his wife are “rain birds,” spending winters in Arizona and summers on Mercer Island, Washington.
