She spent much of her life in education and corporate training (while raising two children) until realizing her dream— expressing herself through art and the spoken word.
She wrote Spooklin in 1956 while attending a Children’s Literature class at Heidelberg College, using fabrics and other materials to illustrate the story. Jean never lost her passion for Spooklin’s story of finding home, finding himself. She has now re-created Spooklin as a book to entertain new young readers.
Her note to you, dear reader: “If you were Spooklin, what sheets would you have tried on? Have fun using the last page to create your own Spooklin sheet!”
