He left Germany with the equivalent of an associate’s degree in foreign languages and humanities. After undergraduate studies in chemistry and biology, he graduated from medical school in Chicago in 1990. He went on to practice medicine in the Middle East for thirteen years, returning to the United States in 2013. He’s retired.view less
