Long before the Internet came into being, Sharon and Lori-Alyce experienced the world around them by doing—whether playing in the hay loft on their grandparents’ farm, attending swimming lessons at the local watering hole, learning how to bake bread through their 4H Club, perfecting their knot-tying skills at Girl Guides, or working together on their fair entries.
As moms, grandmoms, aunts, sisters, community volunteers and friends, Sharon and Lori-Alyce continue to learn by doing, sharing their love of and passion for all things rural through their writing, teaching, and artwork, including the (mis)adventures of Ivy and Vi. This book is a celebration of small-town traditions that bring art, agriculture, individuals, and imagination together, and a thank-you to all the incredible people who continue to make learning by doing possible for children both young and old.view less
