She is the mother of a son with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and multiple learning disabilities. Sharon was a former continuing education speaker for dental professionals in the United States and Canada educating them about the complexities of ADHD. She continues to educate dental hygiene students in the course she teaches, “Management of the Special Needs Patient.” She is the recipient of the “Imagine If Award” for outstanding achievement in making a difference in the lives of students and individuals with special needs. She and her husband Mark, reside in Lancaster, NY, with their two children. She enjoys reading, boating, and camping with her family.
