Since that time, he has continued to work with his Salvadoran community in Australia and El Salvador. His social commitment has led him to write this book, with the intention of contributing to make visible his Nahuath brothers and sisters and other ethnic groups in El Salvador. The Native peoples have suffered persecution, slavery, death and so many other crimes against humanity. This is the history of more than five centuries of oppression, since the invasion and colonization of Spain. That is the voice that Salvador brings in this book, the voice of the original peoples, oppressed and ignored, by centuries of physical and spiritual destruction. Salvador makes visible the journey of his Nahuath people, through interviews that seem long and endless, but which express the voice of that exploited and oppressed people of El Salvador. The Native peoples, now called by some peasants, are mixed between the ethnic groups that inhabit El Salvador and other peoples of Mesoamerica (Central America), confused between the poverty of millions of people, ignored by the system of economic and political power of El Salvador and other Central American countries. Immersed in that sea of personal and community experiences, being a tireless social fighter, Salvador shares that walk with his people; he is incarnated in daily and everyday life there in the mountains, cantons and towns of the West of El Salvador, to learn and share the essence of humble life, of his ancestors and his descendants; who still resist the oppression of the racist governments of El Salvador.view less
