He was attracted by English literature since he was a very young student though the Tunisian culture is poor in terms of English books. Tunisia is a francophone country, and English is a third language. Khaled was attracted by English, and after he got his art baccalaureate in 1995, he chose to study English literature and joined the Tunisian faculty of social and human sciences in Tunis. He ended his academic studies by obtaining a maîtrise in the English language and literature. He has started teaching English since the year 2000, but his career as an English writer had started so long before—when he was a student. He began the writing of his first novel, entitled Alone Everywhere, in 1998, and it was achieved in 2013. He is a playwright as well as a poet. He published his play, entitled I Can’t Stand Alone, and his first collection of poems, entitled Orphan Meditations, in 2015.view less
